Integrative Medicine
What is Holistic Veterinary Medicine?
Holistic (or Wholistic), sometimes called 'alternative' medicine, takes on the whole picture of the patient - mind, body & spirit - to identify underlying imbalances that cause disease. Holistic practitioners believe in the body's own vital energy and its natural restorative powers; most alternative therapies are meant to be preventative.
Veterinarians trained in holistic medicine take into account all aspects of your pet's life, including it's behavior, medical history, diet, environment and other factors. Treatment occurs in the least invasive, most natural way to foster a well-balanced, well-nourished body that will resist disease, fight infection, and heal faster.
What is Integrative Veterinary Medicine?
Integrative medicine integrates both traditional Western medicine and alternative therapies. Both traditional and alternative practices have their health benefits and their limitations, but together they provide a synergy that can transform a patient's health. Dr. Jim Codington treats the majority of his cases with great results utilizing the methodology of integrative medicine.
